Birth doula serving Boston’s North Shore
and surrounding communities.
Hi, and welcome! My name is Jen. It would be a joy and honor to come alongside your family as you bring your baby into the world.
I love being a birth doula, and witnessing a birth is a privilege I do not take lightly. Your birth story is not just another blip on the timeline of your life, it’s a transformative event! And you deserve to have a labor and delivery you can look back on and know that you were supported, respected, and well cared for. Whatever your birth preferences are, and whatever the circumstances surrounding your birth, my job is to provide judgement-free, continuous support to you and your partner. I will be by your side to comfort, encourage, and discuss your options throughout the process.
Jen is fantastic. She has attended the births of both of my children and there is no one I would rather have in the delivery room with me. Her demeanor is so warm, supportive, and calming, and she was wonderfully helpful both in verbally encouraging and physically supporting me during both labors. She stood behind me for hours putting pressure on my lower back during the worst parts of labor, she encouraged me with just the right words when I was getting tired, and she made a great team player with my husband, offering to be helpful where needed but never being invasive. She was so good at being attuned to what I needed throughout the whole process and always considerate of my preferences as each stage of labor progressed. I knew she was absolutely committed to doing what she could to help me achieve the best birth possible, and I am so blessed that she could be there with me during two of the most formative moments of my life.
She was so friendly, easy to talk to and very knowledgeable… As my due date neared I realized that I wanted to give birth at home or a birthing center instead of the hospital and I found a birthing center near by that would take me last minute. She was so supportive at my home for before we left, I was so afraid of being told to go back home until I was “ready”. My active labor came unusually fast and i wasn’t sure if I was in active labor or not. once she arrived to my home we timed and she witnessed my contractions and she gave the green light to head to the center. It was absolutely wonderful to have two hands to hold, and sometimes one person to get things I needed while another never left my side. My husband loved having her too, he said he’s not sure if he could’ve done it all without her. She is so warm and welcoming, she really becomes part of your family quickly, we only met a couple times before the birth, but we felt like we knew her forever.
